UT UNUM SINT
This pious wish is the reason why this website came into being. Of course, the one who invented this saying should have included himself by changing the wording to UT UNUM SIMUS – May we be one!
The question arises, is it possible for mankind to be united, to be one? Not physically, because our biological structure differs from one person to another. But maybe spiritually.
This is only possible if we emanated from the same source, and that source has to be a kind of power permeating the multiverse, and still be at work, evolving them.
If we are to grasp this stupendous thought, we must first realize that we are more than a physical body. Okay. Most people agree that we have a soul, a spirit or consciousness.
Yes, in our daily lives we are conscious that we have a consciousness – after all, we are thinking, aren’t we? Or so we like to think.
People generally agree that some people are more intelligent than others, but they also believe that the so-called intelligence is due to the capacity of the brain. Right?
But then the big question is, Is consciousness linked to the brain? Does it reside there? Does consciousness cease to exist when the brain stops working?
Near-death victims tell another story. Surgeons may observe that the brain waves on the EEG monitor change their pattern into a straight line. “Damn, we are losing the patient,” they cry out. Time passes by, and eventually they decide to remove heart, liver and kidneys for replacement in other patients.
For crying out loud! They are mistaken. The “dead” person is not dead until the heart stops beating, and yet…
Suspended under the ceiling the soul observes his body lying motionless, surgeons at work, nurses talking.
This often happens, and if and when the soul (or consciousness) returns the person will be able to describe in details what happened in the room.
In one instance, in England, the surgeon had just made the first incision in order to open the chest, and remove the heart, when all of a sudden a nurse exclaimed, “One of the toes is moving!”
“Bosh and nonsense,” said the surgeon. But a moment later the whole foot stirred.
Now he got busy, and hastened to close the chest. The person came to life again and related how he in his out-of-body experience concentrated on moving his foot to show he was still alive.
So we may conclude that brain death is not a decisive proof of death.
Furthermore, if our consciousness really is connected to the body, but independent of a physical confinement, where does it lodge, then?
And secondly, can it express itself without a body?
Returning to the aforementioned great consciousness, power and intelligence, it might be compared to a vast ocean, whose droplets may take on a physical shape. But then something dreadful happens. When this droplet of consciousness incapsulate itself into a form, the bonds to the ocean are almost entirely broken, and so – what we call our daily consciousness, or personality – do not have access to the omniscient source any more, and has to gather knowledge anew from the physical world of cause and effects.
E.T., phone home
But the incarnated soul still has a tiny memory of its source, and this residue is like a small throbbing heart. We call it our conscience. Because this is the string left behind to our tiny vessel through which the Great Consciousness – or God, if you prefer that name – whisper to us when we quieten our mind.
How can we phone home?
Praying is one way of doing so. You may ask for insight that can help you to grasp the meaning of what happens to you in your everyday life. Remember, this world is one of cause and effects. Nothing is incidental. Look for the cause, and you will discover that many of your mishaps are due to something you started yourself. There is still another possibility, but we will return to that later on.
Any thought, any word, any deed behaves like a boomerang. If you don’t treat your fellowman in a nice way, smack – you’ll get hit in return. Words can cause the same thing, too. And what about thoughts?
If you dismiss them at once, no harm is done. But should you give them serious thought, give them nutrition but don’t execute them, they will eventually be caught by another individual in the same mood, who might then perform the evil deed. So watch out. And the thought which you freed, will poison your soul in return.
But why give this a second thought? After all, we only live once, and to hell with other people. I want a good life for myself, you might think.
Sorry, you are all wet. And if we only had one single life, it wouldn’t have any meaning, any purpose. Your life would be wasted.
So, why are we here? Are we only a casual whim of Nature?
Try looking around. You are in an orderly world. There are certain physical laws that have been proved by scientists, and you have tried some of them out yourself, e.g. things fall down. They don’t disappear in the sky when you let them go. Aside from birds.
You also have biological laws. A cow don’t give birth to an ape, neither do women produce kittens. Of course, they can have kittens, but that’s quite another story.
You will realize that all is taken care of. Even the growing of a fetus into a child. It all inevitably happens in the same way. So there are really rules.
The mother don’t know a heck about how to interpret the genome, producing proteins, arranging cells, the skeleton, muscles and all the rest. But Nature – an intelligent unseen force – knows all about the process. When the newborn baby is crying out loud for the first time, in that very split second a droplet of the Big Consciousness takes fully control.
Evolution
As we recognize physical evolution, we might also consider the possibility of a psychic evolution. People are getting smarter, even if it’s difficult to believe. That is, our philosophy and understanding of what is right or wrong is expanding. It seems like mankind is accumulating experiences. How come?
As we do not inherit our parental experiences, the most logical explanation is that we are born again. Which, incidentally, our Saviour Jesus Christ also told us, if we are to believe the Holy Bible.
Wow, if this is the case, then we are given a completely new outlook on life. Does this mean, that we, that is our consciousness – get a new chance in a new physical body, and a new personality?
You bet!
But, do we really have to experience the same bad things in a new life?
Nope, when you have learned a lesson by heart, you’ll never meet the same problem again – personally. And that particular lesson is stamped upon your soul, so you won’t have to bother about that any more.
There is also a blessing involved. Because the nice things you did in this or another life, will return to you eventually. Again, the law of cause and effect at work.
But how long must we reincarnate? How many times?
That depends on you. The more your efforts to be a do-gooder bear fruits, the faster you will graduate. But generally speaking, it may take many thousand lives in a physical body on a planet like ours.
You see, you’ll have to experience everything, and I mean literally everything. You must kill, be killed, experience life as both male and female, be a king, warrior, peasant, priest or heathen. You’ll have to gain experience in all walks of life.
And when do I graduate?
Hey, hey, this is serious business. You must learn to understand and love any creature, help where help is accepted without thinking of how your body might be affected, and without a desire to be rewarded in any way. You just do the right thing.
And you should be humble, realizing that the credit must be given to that eternal part of you, your droplet of the Eternal Cosmic Consciousness, or God.
Then, and only then, you will in due time be transferred to the so-called fifth dimension. This is the lowest class of what we call angels. You’ll get a lighter, less dense but still physical body. Your genome will be enhanced, some genes will be activated and give you extrasensory abilities.
Your body will stay young, like an adult in the thirties, and you won’t have to die or change to a new body unless you decide so.
